This month I am reading book ‘Sharing: Culture and the Economy in the Internet Age’ by Philippe Aigrain with contribution by Suzanne Aigrain.
According to the description on the back cover of this book, the author(s) hold the view that ‘the non-market sharing of digital works is both legitimate and useful.’ This is a departure from the dominant view that such ‘non-market sharing’ is harmful for the future of culture.

Hi Ana, that sounds like an interesting book. I’m putting it on my ‘to-read’ list. I think that we need a new set of business model for ‘culture products’, like books, music and other entertainment. The sharing part also reminds me of what Jermiah Owyang calls the collaborative Economy, a broader movement of sharing that is shaking up brands and companies. As for what I’m reading now: football literature. After some great books by Shafak and Murakami. After the summer, I’m going to read Thinking Fast And Slow by Daniel Kahneman.

Oh, I had a change of reading plans. I received a wonderful package the other day, containing two books, both written by people from IDEO. One is Change by design from Tim Brown, but I started in the other: The ten faces of innovation by Tom Kelley.

Football literature? I did not see that one coming 😉 Is that about the game itself, or biographies of famous players?

Oh, I really like football. Especially the ‘beautiful game’ side of it. Football literature can be about anything related to football. It can be poetry as well. Some example topics: a cultural study/opinion on why The Netherlands will never be world champions, the story of a group of boys who start their own club that lasts a year, an embedded reporter that follow a club for a year, how a famous football player who suffered a cerebral hemorrhage too early in his career is living now. Really all sorts of stories, but well written by professionals. It was an anthology from 10 years of a Dutch literary football magazine. There used to be an English ‘sister’ publication, but I can’t recall the title.
