February is one of my favourite months of the year: the days are visibly getting lighter, the flowers are coming through, and… it’s my birthday. What’s not to like?
This month’s productivity was a bit disrupted due to health issues in the family, and technical problems. Still, I managed to tick off various items from my to do list.
Research
I spent time planning the experiments for the washing machine project, and a grant proposal for the misinformation one.
In addition, had a meeting to discuss the data resources for another project, which will be based on secondary data.
Writing
Finished one co-authored paper about chatbots and finished the revisions for another one related to sustainability. Both papers involved a bit of a marathon in the final stages. One day I sat for 4h30m hours in a row, cutting words, improving readability formatting the paper… In the end, my back and hands were killing me!!!
Anyway. both papers have now been submitted, which is a great relief.
I also did some paperwork for a funded project. And… received a rejection for a conference paper.
Teaching
The main focus this month was the research methods module for masters’ students, that I teach this semester. But there were also moderations for another module, and supervision of undergraduate students’ research projects.
Service
I applied for a role at the University and had an interview. News about this, next month.
I reviewed two papers, and I accepted an invitation to deliver a keynote talk at the forthcoming Digital Marketing Colloquium 2024, on the theme of “Let’s Craft Tomorrow Today: Envisioning & Shaping AI, Metaverse & Web3 for Businesses & Societies”.
Ah, and I voted (by post) on the Portuguese legislative elections.
