No teaching this month. So, I managed to make progress on various writing projects and to carve out some time for speculative research conversations.
I also spent a lovely day at the SPA with the kiddo, cheered on the “teen” and my OH during Hyrox, and caught up with friends in London and Oxford.
Alas, the internet went down while I was updating the operating system on my laptop, which caused it to crash. I sent many hours unsuccessfully trying to fix the laptop but had to take it to Apple store to reboot.
Research
I was selected for the sandpit that I applied for last month. I am so happy!
I joined an event, in London, about the Department for Business & Trade’s research priorities, and bumped into some former colleagues, which was really nice.
Writing
This month, I worked on two grant applications, but only ended up submitting one.
I also finished and submitted a paper; and a co-author submitted a book chapter on the consumer behaviour project.
One of the papers that I submitted earlier this year came back with revisions, which is great news. Though, I have to say that some seem quite tricky to address.
Teaching
No teaching this month, but still plenty of teaching related activities, including:
- Marking assessment for the MSc module that I taught in January and February
- Preparing the assessment briefs and virtual learning environment for the MBA module that I am teaching in April and May
- Developing the outline for a new MSc module
- Interviewing one PhD candidate
Service
In my SeNSS role, reviewed applications for grants for placements and overseas institutional visits. Moreover, discussed the outcomes of the training needs analysis with the team, and made plans to address the gaps identified
In the ethics role, participated in discussions of the Business School’s strategic plan for research.
Elsewhere, I reviewed two papers.
What did March have in store for you?

Glad to read that things are going well for you, despite the terrible situation our world is in right now.
