In August we moved into the new house and, then, promptly left to Denmark followed by Portugal. There were some additional conversations about an important step in my career. Plus, I spent some time with my parents, discovered new lovely sides to my kids, made progress on my feet issues, and got back into sketching. There were some great moments but, I have to say that, overall, August was a tiring and emotionally draining month. I need to regroup, before the new term starts.
Research
We ran a pre-test for an experiment, did some fine-tuning, and then the actual data collection.
Sadly, I was not selected for a research sandpit.
Writing
We worked on the proposal for the 3rd edition of Research Methods book and submitted it. Did some work on a paper due next month.
Teaching
Sent feedback and suggestions to three students working on their research projects. Also, marked research projects and resit coursework. Plus, moderated marking on another module.
Service
In my SeNSS role, I reviewed applications from doctoral students for funding for overseas institutional visits. I also reviewed several ethics applications, including some tricky / high risk ones. And I reviewed a journal article, and three grant applications.
