A collection of random things that I am enjoying lately, and that I really wanted to tell you about, but which, individually, are not enough for a blog post.
1. Working outdoors
The weather has been gorgeous, and the days are ‘long’ (yeah, yeah, I know that they are still the same length – 24 hours and all that – but you know what I mean). I am loving topping up on vitamin D and breathing fresh rather than conditioned air. Hooray for outdoor meetings and writing sessions.
2. Working out outdoors
My, what a tongue twister. It is a shame to be locked in a gym when the sun is out and the air is warm, don’t you think? So, while I have never been one to shy away from an outdoors’ workout, I am particularly enjoying running and cycling outdoors now that the weather is so nice.
3. Austin Kleon’s newsletter
Austin describes himself as “a writer who draws”, though he may be more formally described as the author of “Steal Like An Artist” among other titles.
Austin curates a weekly list of links to things that inspire him – for instance, a biography, an audio interview, an article, an old blog post of his… I usually skim through the list, then dive into a couple of those suggestions. For instance, last week, he shared this fascinating interview with Susan Rogers, who worked as a sound engineer for Prince, before carving an academic career. This long interview offers fantastic insight into Prince’s creative process, as well as the recording process in the days before GarageBand and Youtube.
You can subscribe to the newsletter here. It lands in your inbox on Fridays.
4. Being deep in data analysis
My colleague Cagri Yalkin invited me to get involved in a fascinating research project that she developed, looking at the role of Instagram in the consumer socialisation of millennials. It is a fascinating project (thank you, Cagri!), and I am loving going through the data, and I trying to make sense of it all. Data analysis is definitely my favourite bit of research.
Pity, it does not really suit itself to be done outdoors (glare on screens, laptop overheating and all that).
5. Reducing my big pile of pens
Well, not really because it means that I am marking. But one has to focus on that bit of the glass that makes it look half full, right?

You actually make it seem really easy along with your presentation but I in finding this matter to be actually one thing that I believe I would by no means understand. It sort of feels too complex and extremely extensive for me. I am having a look forward in your next submit, I’ll try to get the cling of it!
